Situated high on a hill overlooking the Shenandoah River in the town of Charles Town, West Virginia, the Philadelphia Printworks team retreated to 3 acres of private woodland to rest and relax. Nearby, John Brown, a staunch abolitionist, led a raid on Harper's Ferry in 1859 that would become an important impetus of the Civil War.
Our team connected with the land through hiking, fire pits, scavenger hunts, and plein air watercolor painting. And, of course, the trip wouldn't have been complete without a commemorative t-shirt.
