Established in 1892, AFRO American Newspapers is the longest-running African-American family-owned newspaper in the United States. On August 13, 2022, it celebrated its 130th birthday.
The AFRO has partnered with Philadelphia Printworks to create this capsule collection in honor of The AFRO’s impact and longevity. When you wear your Afro Charities x PPW gear, we hope you feel proud of all we’ve accomplished so far and fortified for the journey to come.
Afro Charities is currently fundraising to develop a permanent home and research center for the collection and planning to digitize its 3 million images.
