Carter G. Woodson once called the Tanner/Alexander family home "the center of the Black intellectual community in Philadelphia." This remarkable family included influential figures such as Henry Ossawa Tanner, Benjamin Tucker Tanner, Dr. Halle Tanner Dillon Johnson, Sadie T. M. Alexander, and Sarah Elizabeth Miller Tanner.
The Friends of the Tanner House, Inc, is committed to preserving and revitalizing the historic Tanner family home at 2908 W. Diamond St. Through their dedicated stewardship, they celebrate the rich Black cultural legacy of North Philadelphia by offering family-centered artistic, intellectual, and cultural programming.
100% of the net proceeds from this product will be donated to The Friends of the Tanner House.
